Keir Dullea’s Record Album © 1966
Posted By: keir dullea online |      3 Comments

Any of Keir’s fans will know Keir recorded a record album back in 1966, probably between his roles of Steven Lake in BUNNY LAKE IS MISSING and Dave Bowman in 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY. Having lived back then I can tell you this album was standard for the time. I remember albums by actors Richard Chamberlain who at that point was playing the very handsome Dr. Kildare, and other actors who experimented with the medium. LIstening to this album I’d like to say that I really wish Keir had done another with material from such 60s luminaries as Simon & Garfunkle, Denny Doherty and John Phillips of The Mamas & The Papas, or even Jan & Dean. Listening to Butterfiles are Free I could really hear Keir doing double harmony on such songs as Bridge Over Troubled Water, The Sounds of Silence, or even California Dreamin’. I could even have heard him in the 70s recording an album with songs from Elton John (Daniel, Levon) or early David Bowie, perhaps even Space Oddity. Too bad no one encouraged him to keep singing. Anyway I hope you enjoy listening. All files are in MP3 format and can be listened to through whatever default music player you have. If anyone would like a copy of the album, I can upload a zip file. To get to the section in the gallery where the files are uploaded, click on the album cover of Keir below. Enjoy.

Omg, I made my mom listen to the whole album while I was driving her home. Funnily enough, I think she liked it more than I did, even though she’s not a Keir fan (^^;).

Thanks for replying. Yeah, I think the songs Keir is singing is pretty much like ‘old lady’ stuff. Richard Chamberlain did the same kind of stuff on his album. Proof, httpvh://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jIq1t7tuuZc. The song is just this side of bad. Though I’d have to give Keir the win on this one. His voice is a little better than Richard’s. Yes I’m choosing Dave Bowman over Ralph de Bricassart. Keir’s voice is a little smoother and like I said in the post it’s more along the likes of Simon & Garfunkle of the time.

OMG LOL!!! To be honest with you, the only things I’ve watched from Richard Chamberlain are “Slipper and the Rose,” (one of my top all time childhood favorites) “I Pronounce you Chuck and Larry,” and “Chuck” lololol! Been wanting to watch “Shogun” and “Dr. Kildare” since high school but never really got to it. Anyway, I thought Richard had a good singing voice in “Slipper” from what I’ve remembered … at least it wasn’t too off-tune like…like…I’m sorry Dave. xD
