Some more goodies for you. I was able to get a hold of some HQ stills from the film for you of Keir from THE FOX. This was an interesting film co-starring Sandy Dennis and Anne Heywood from the novel of the same name by D. H. Lawrence. Keir looked so Mephistophelian as Paul Renfield, the proverbial fox in the hen house. While a totally misogynistic and wholly homophobic piece, it’s a film of its time. What got me was how calculating Keir was in his role. One could see his slow manipulation of Ellen March (Heywood) to the total lack of empathy for Jill Banford (Dennis.) I’ve read reviews that call Paul a deviant. I’d have to agree with that description. Paul certainly had no care for Jill, and I’m not convinced he actually loved March. I’m not really sure if I were March I’d have not reacted the same way. Yeah I swoon. Who wouldn’t?
