I wanted to let you know that I’m going to be retooling the press section. It’s very disorganized and I’m not entirely happy with the look and feel of it. So over the next few days (other than Christmas), I’m going to be working with it. So for now it’s offline. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Well, as you can see I finally have a new layout on both the main site and gallery. Thanks so much to Christine @ pinkchaos. Without her I wouldn’t have been able to get this done. She took what I was thinking, and made it better. Thanks so very much Chrissy for all your work. I’m sure Keir will appreciate your time and effort. I thought I’d go with a now/then motif. Keir as he looks today (and I know there will be some who’ll hate the beard …. I’m looking at you Megan) and a bit of a nostalgia feel on the gallery. I hope you like what I chose to go with. Updates will begin soon. I’m still in the process of getting those images sorted and tagged. They’ll be coming this week. I promise. I may have some more tweaks to do but for the most part the layout is complete. Also, you may have noticed something new in the sidebar. That would be a link to a site I’ve created for Keir’s 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY co-star Gary Lockwood. Click on the link to go there. The reason for the site is that in the collection of images for this site, I’ve collected a lot of Gary. Therefore I thought I’d create a site for him. I’m not sure how big it’ll get, my main priority is Keir’s, but whatever I get of Gary will go in there. So there you have it.
Like the title says I’m sorry I’ve been MIA-Missing in Action, and not Mia Dillon, but there has been a lot going on in my life of late. Too many personal issues going on for my liking. I want to say thanks to Emily for pointing out the Keir Dullea Wikia has been officially spammed. I’m investigating how to keep the site spam free. Sorry for that guys. I also know the header looks a little wonky. For some reason when I add audio files the thumbnailer in the header that displays the last uploads to the gallery isn’t displaying the MP3 icon in the box. I’m trying to find out why. I’ll have that remedied soon. I’m also trying to get some of the things Frank and Emily have provided me, but the process is taking longer than I’d hoped, the aforementioned personal issues plus I’m trying to get going on my novel OUBLIETTE in which I’ve created a character that is to be a composite of Keir. Emily has provided some of Keir’s films for screencapping but the issue is the caps will end up a little on the small size and I’m trying to find out how to convert the films into a Bluray format or at least an HD version that will result in larger caps but not blow the frames all out of proportion. I’ve been struggling with this since I began capping Keir’s film DAVID AND LISA. Most of the videos I have won’t allow for resizing of the images due to the frame sizes, thusly blowing the pixels out so the images are severely distorted. The only way to fix this is to have a frame size in the same size as I want the screencaps. This process takes a little time to complete. So please be patient. I’m hoping to have some other things of Keir’s up tonight so I can fix the last uploads box in the header. Thanks for understanding.
I wanted to make a personal thank you to Frank Fernandez from New York who made a couple of generous donations to KEIR DULLEA ONLINE. One was in the form of some images and articles he’s collected throughtout the years I hope to have up in the press section soon, barring an act of God or some other interruption. The other was a monetary donation to help keep the site online. I want to give him a huge thank you and much gratitude. Take care Frank.
As you likely can tell there’s a new layout up for the holidays. The theme as if you didn’t know is from Keir’s 1974 film BLACK CHRISTMAS. Yeah I know it’s a little dark for the holidays but I thought we’d enjoy a little bit of Peter Smythe for a while. I’m currently working on the layout for the New Year, but this one will be up until at least the middle of January. I hope you enjoy it I know I did creating it. If you were here in the wee small hours of the morning you’d have noticed some hinkiness going on with the gallery. I was trying to get the colours right and my computer chose an inopportune time to crap out on me. Fortunately I was able to get things back up and running and complete the colour coding. I felt like a was dealing with HAL-9000 for a while this AM. I had visions of having to squeeze into my laptop’s harddrive and disconnect it. If it had started singing “Daisy, Daisy” I’d have thrown it over the balcony. Except for a few tweaks there you go. Let me know what you think.
